Experience and Expertise
Although Mr. Blake is not a newcomer to
San Diego since he spent many years here in and around
the shipyard business beginning in 1976, he just
recently joined IMS as the Production Manager.
His hiring was based not only on his expert ability to
perform but IMS’ persuasion for him to join us even
though he was currently residing on the East Coast. John
is highly skilled in all aspects of ship and boat repair
as well as excelling in the management leadership
required to ensure quality products and services and his
main goal is to get the best value for customers. His
excellent record of performance is inclusive of
management, planning, scheduling, execution and on-site
quality control.
Mr. Blake has wide ranging experience in
amphibious assault, mine warfare ships, Military Sealift
Command, Coast Guard ships and crafts and commercial
rehabilitation and construction. Being highly educated
John specializes in successful problem solving for the
customer(s) that has developed an exceptional
relationship between any contractor and the US
Government. Many of Mr. Blake’s assignments have been
Project Manager and Ship Superintendent on DDG’s, USNS,
CVN’s, CV’s, LHA’s, LPD’s, etc. More specifically,
these assignments encompassed the USNS LEWIS and CLARK
(T-AKE-1), USNS SACAGAWEA (T-AKE-2), USNS ARCTIC
(T-AOE-8), USS OSCAR AUSTIN (DDG-79), USS SAIPAN
(LHA-2), USS ROOSEVELT (DDG-80), USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT
(CVN-71), USS JOHN F KENNEDY (CV-67) and more.
